From today, Wednesday 30 March, our training sessions will shift to Wednesdays and Fridays at McEwen. Same start and finish times.
No matter how good you are as a player, soccer is a team sport and your training sessions are vital to learning how to play as part of a team. If you can't make it please call your team manager to explain and see if you have missed any game day information.
Shab's Shorts
Three weeks into the new season and we can see the new players starting to settle down and grasping the speed and quality of the NPL. Well done to the coaches for helping with the transition from local football to NPL football, but there is still much to do.
Over the next four weeks you will see a few U13 players move up to the U14's. The players will train and play U14's for this 4 week period. We see this a fantastic opportunity to accelerate the learning of our players. After the 4 week period is over the coaches and the TD will evaluate the progress of the players and provide some feed back to the player on their progress.
Everyone keep up the great work we are heading in the right direction.
Regards, Shaban Mehmet

Weekend game wraps
Under 20s
Tough day on the park! With our Senior team suffering so many injuries it was rest time for those players and a great opportunity for the U20s to get their chance to play up. We had five U20 players on the pitch in the Seniors game which left a large hole in our U20s squad.
Makuac (U18s) started his first game in the U20s with a goal and Alou (U16s) came on in the 70th minute and looked comfortable on the ball - a good indication of the club's philosophy of building with local talent. Both players along with the rest of the squad came from behind to score two goals to level up the scores.
Skill errors were ultimately our issue, however we don’t mind playing poorly (occasionally) and coming away with a result. It was character building and another point which means we are building slowly and ready for Bendigo City this Saturday at 5pm. All reports suggest the juniors are coming along nicely, so well done players and coaches.

Our new kit has arrived in Australia...
But it will take a little longer than we hoped to have all the kits ready for game day. Now the shirts have arrived in Australia they are on their way to have the numbers and NPL badges applied before they are sent to Shepparton.
This weekend we will play in our existing kit and like everyone, we look forward to having all our teams playing in the new kit as soon as we can.
Under 15s v Box Hill Rescheduled
7pm Wednesday 6 April at Wembley Park
The Under 15s match that was postponed from Round 2 will be played at Box Hill at 7pm on Wednesday 6 April.
Shane and Troy will be in touch with the squad to confirm availability, transport and any other matters before the game.
The match is taking place during the school holidays so if anyone is in Melbourne and looking for some Wednesday night entertainment come on down to watch our Under 15s play.
Volunteers needed to video games

If you are a video expert or just an enthusiast we would love your help to video our games. Videos are a great way to help our players review, learn and improve their play and how they play as a team. If you have a video camera and can help out please talk with your team manager.
Armchair expert - Is the ball out?
A round ball and a straight line - how hard can it be? Like last week's offside reminder, this week we have another aspect of the game that is frequently debated.
The ball is out of play when
- it is entirely crossed the goal line or touch line whether on the ground or in the air
- play has been stopped by the referee
The ball is in play when
- it rebounds of a goalpost, crossbar or corner flag post and remained in the field of play
- it rebounds off either the referee or an assistant referee when they are on the field of play
