I think if you take away their two goals you could say we played ok!
Unfortunately our boys have a habit of conceding easily then we try to chase a game. Our set up for the day was designed to keep possession of the ball which we did for the first 20 minutes. Our backline was too far apart at times and allowed SGC too much space. This resulted in us conceding an early goal then trying to combat that with tactical changes. Our pass quality was very poor to be perfectly honest which simply increased turnovers and counter attacking from SGC.
Once we got in the sheds at half time we spoke about theses issues along with more quality movement in the final third. Not too many messages at half time just a couple to focus on in the second half.
The second half was better in terms of us hitting our targets but another counter attack and goal to them was tough to swallow. We stayed focused and made some more tactical changes along with some fresh wingers and the game turned in our favour. We looked dangerous from set pieces all game and finally got a great goal from a corner, then some good combination play in the final third resulted in the equaliser.
The composure of the players was the impressive part for the staff. The way we kept trying to create was something that we have tried to teach thoroughly this year, "it's not over till it's over"!
Next week another home game then 3 away games - we will be focusing on recovery and preparation during this time.

Very good result for us on Sunday with a 3-0 win against Sunshine George
It was a very hard week for the team in all aspects after our disappointing loss last week. We needed to regroup, go back to basics and start again on trying to control the tempo of the game and really play with confidence. I believe we did that.
The boys were focussed and with the right attitude we tried to play and control the tempo for the majority of the game. The game was a slow one and never really got to a high standard, but we scored 3 outstanding goals. (Shaun Kane 2 and Daniel Heffernan the other.) before half time.
At half time we asked the boys keep trying to do the right things but just play a bit quicker and with a higher intensity. The second half was much of the same as the first, but we defended very well and as a result we got our third clean sheet for the year.
I was very happy for the boys and the way we played after last week's performance. It's hard after a loss like last week's to turn it around the way we did on Sunday and I'm sure our desire and intensity will be a lot higher in the week's ahead.
Sunday will be our last home game for a month, with some very hard away games coming up. It would be nice if we can get around our boys on Sunday to show our support.
Well done to our 20's for a great game and winner's attitude on Sunday.
